Can I pick the colors I want to use if I order that mobile?
Yes you can! Any color that we have available to us can be substituted at no extra charge.

How heavy are the mobiles?
Aluminum is a very light weight metal. Most of our mobiles weigh less than a pound or two with many only weighing just a few ounces.

How do I attach my mobile to my ceiling?
Because they are so light weight a tea cup hook or an eyelet screw (available at any hardware store) is safe to use as long as your ceiling will securely accept the screw. In some cases even a push pin will hold our smaller mobiles and ornaments.

Can I put my mobile out side in the yard?
Due to our mobiles being so light weight we do not recommend it because they would blow away even in a moderate breeze. Also if the mobile is placed in continuous sunlight the colors will eventually fade. If you have a protected screened in porch or deck the mobile would probably be just fine. You might consider bringing it in for the winter months.

How will my mobile be able to move if I put it in the house?
Because they are so light weight it only takes the slightest amount of circulation to make it move. Open windows, air conditioning and heating are enough to keep it moving, even people moving around in the room will keep them activated.

How long will it take to get my mobile?
Our turn around is usually pretty fast, please remember that when you order you are getting a mobile that is being done just for you and that we are doing it from "scratch". You can normally expect your mobile to be shipped within one to two weeks. There are times that we are on the road doing major retail shows across the country so it may take a little longer, however we would advise you of that situation. Delivery time on the larger pieces covered with fabric or if it is a custom piece can take up to three to four weeks. In this case it would be best to call us so that you will know when to expect it.

How do I clean my mobile?
They can be dusted off with a soft cloth or we have found that window cleaner sprayed on a soft cloth and wiped over the surface works really well.

My cousin collects rabbits, can you make me a rabbit?
Unfortunately due to a back log of producing our own ideas we are unable to accommodate a request such as this. We have a large assortment of collectibles and many times we are able to make small adjustments to accommodate something you might have in mind using, as a take off point, our original idea.

I have a two story living room that needs a 14 foot wide mobile and I really like that Solemn Journey design. Can you make one that big?
Yes we can. Instead of simply enlarging the mobile, however you might be interested in letting us do multiples of the of the piece and construct a hanger support to accommodate it. A good example of this is shown in the Commissions section. The Silver's commission is actually the Solemn Journey mobile shown in the mobile section, only we have done 3 sets of the mobile and then created a structure that the 3 sets hang from. An added benefit to doing it thiswayis that there are a great deal many more panels, 9 to be exact, that are going to be moving making it a lot morefascinating to watch. If we were to simply take the Solemn Journey and "blow it up" to a much larger size you would still have only the3 panels that move. It is also a lot more cost effective done this way because we don't have extra studio time developing and enlarging the patterns which is expensive as well as having to order larger, more expensive sized aluminum materials.

What is anodized aluminum?
Anodizing aluminum is an electrochemical process that creates a clear oxide layer on the surface of the metal. This layer is porous and allows the metal to accept the dye. During the dye process the color becomes a part of the metal, making it very durable and the color won't chip off. It is also scratch resistant. The end result is beautiful colors with a lot of depth from brilliant to subtle shades.

Do you do your own anodizing?
Unfortunately we are unable to because it is very time consuming and if we did do the dyeing ourselves we wouldn't have the time to make the mobiles. We have it custom dyed for us at East West Dyecom in Roanoke, VA.

I love that mobile but where on earth would I hang it?
Our mobiles have been hung in every room imaginable. Living custom mobilerooms, dinning rooms, we've actually had several people tell us they took down their chandelier over their table and replaced it with one of our mobiles, bed rooms as they are very relaxing to watch, bath rooms and shower stalls, especially the fish designs as water won't rust them, hot tubs, entry ways as a major eye catcher and if lighted in certain ways they can create beautiful shadow patterns on the floor or walls, kids rooms and breakfast nooks, as well as offices and dens.

I have real low ceilings and also my husband is over 6 feet tall!
In cases such as this there are still several effective andwonderful places you can hang one. Over a kitchen counter, end table, coffee table, or over one end of the couch, anywhere will do that you couldn't walk directly into it.

Over the years I have collected several of your smaller ornament sculptures. Are you able to make these into a mobile for me?
We sure can and would enjoy doing so. This photo (right) is a great example. This family had collected five different fish and wanted them assembled as a mobile. The end result as you can see is a delightful, and original mobile.
