The Mobileguys
SOME HISTORY

Gabe Stoner (right) began making mobiles in 1991 after a long career as a hand-weaver. He met Mike Hatton in 1994 who was a gourmet chef ready for a change.
Since then the "mobileguys" have been combining their talents designing mobiles in many styles and sizes, from small- and medium- sized mobiles for homes and offices to large commercial installations where their whimsical mobiles dance in the sunlight of four-story atriums.

OUR MATERIALS
Brilliant-colored, sturdy, anodized aluminum tubes, wire and sheeting is used to create our mobile art along with painted and hand-dyed fabric, paper and wood.

SIZE + STYLE
Our mobiles range in size from 7 inches to 8 feet in circumference. Some of our commissions have exceeded 4 stories in height! Styles range from abstract to elegant and whimsical.

HOW WE DO IT
The tubular structures that the aluminum sheeting and fabric and/or paper adhere to are hand-tied, then decorative materials are laced or hand sewn onto the pieces.
We carefully balance each level to allow for a sweeping, 360-degree rotation.
All of our mobiles and kinetic sculptures are made by hand in our Kansas studio.
